Tom Paddon, President & Chief Executive Officer
Born in Labrador, Tom Paddon joined Baffinland in June 2011 following a 15 year career at Vale Newfoundland and Labrador, Ltd., where he was most recently General Manager. During the early days of Vale’s Voisey’s Bay Project, Mr. Paddon played a large part in building the relationships that were to become critical to the company’s success in the region. He was Manager of Aboriginal Affairs & Labrador Human Resources until 2007 when he became General Manager. Mr. Paddon played a pivotal role in negotiating the Impacts and Benefits Agreements with Innu Nation and the Nunatsiavut Government, including leading the negotiations to resolve Inuit concerns regarding project shipping. He was also charged with translating the written agreements into practical success that met stakeholder expectations. As a result, the Voisey’s Bay project is recognized across the country as having raised the bar on employment, business and corporate responsibility for resource developments occurring on aboriginal lands.

Michael Anderson joined Baffinland in July 2011. Prior to joining Baffinland, Mr. Anderson was Mine Manager for Vale’s Voisey’s Bay Nickel Mine in northern Labrador, having spent the previous eight years working through its design, construction, start-up and operation. Prior work experience includes geologic modelling and feasibility work on gold deposits in Venezuela and nickel laterite operations in Indonesia and New Caledonia. Mr. Anderson holds a Master of Science degree in Mining Engineering from Queen’s University.

Stephanie Anderson joins Baffinland Iron Mines from Dundee Precious Metals Inc., where she held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to that Ms. Anderson spent 19 years at Inco Limited (now Vale) in positions of increasing responsibility, including the last four years as Vice President and Treasurer. Ms. Anderson has more than 25 years of experience in finance and metals and mining. During her tenure with Inco, Ms. Anderson played a key role in major acquisitions and developments including the Voisey's Bay Project in Newfoundland and Labrador and the Goro Nickel Project in New Caledonia. She was responsible for global finance and treasury activities including bank lending and capital market transactions and managed the relationships with the major credit rating agencies. She also led a variety of high-profile taskforces for Inco. Ms. Anderson holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of New Brunswick and an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto.

Ronald Hampton, Vice-President and Project Director
Ronald Hampton has over 25 years of experience in mining and resource development projects, specialising in the areas of projects control, procurement and commercial management. Prior to joining ArcelorMittal, Mr. Hampton worked at Vale Inco in Indonesia as Project Director for Planning and Control, where he was responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of all project control activities. He has also been involved with the Goro Nickel Project and Voisey’s Bay Nickel Project for Vale Inco and Diavik Diamonds Mines with Rio Tinto. Mr. Hampton has an MBA with a major in Finance and a B.Sc. degree in Exploration Geology from McGill University in Canada.

Erik Madsen, Vice President, Sustainable Development Health, Safety & Environment
Erik Madsen joined Baffinland in June 2011. Born and raised in the Northwest Territories, Mr. Madsen has over 25 years of northern experience in mine operations and regulatory permitting, including engagement with aboriginal and non-aboriginal governments. Prior to working at Baffinland, he was Director of Communities/External Relations & Winter Road Operations with Diavik and for the Tibbitt to Contwoyto Winter Road Joint Venture, the infrastructure lifeline for the three operating diamond mines in the NWT. Mr. Madsen held several management roles with Diavik Diamond Mines over the past 15 years, including Environmental Manager, responsible for baseline studies for the Diavik project as well as the Environmental Assessment and permitting of the mine. Prior to working with Diavik, Mr. Madsen was Superintendent, Environmental Affairs, for Royal Oak Mines, Industrial Coordinator at DIAND for three years and also worked for six years at Con Mine as Environmental Coordinator. He graduated from NAIT in Edmonton with a diploma in Environmental Sciences.

Dick Matthews joined Baffinland in July 2008. Before this, he worked as Divisional Manager – Mining at Snowden Mining Industry Consultants, an international consulting firm. Earlier employment included operations, technical and management roles at Rossing Uranium (Namibia), Bougainville Copper and Lihir Gold Mine (Papua New Guinea), Argyle Diamonds and Rio Tinto Iron Ore (Australia), Minera Alumbrera (Argentina) and Minera Yanacocha (Peru). Mr Matthews’ experience covers many commodities, single and multiple pits and processes, surface and underground mines, selective and bulk mining methods, high and low altitudes, many climatic conditions and the start-up of several mines in remote locations. Mr. Matthews holds a Bachelor of Science (Mining Engineering) from Queen’s University.

Greg Missal, Vice President, Corporate Affairs
Mr. Missal has 15 years of experience working in the Northern Canadian resource sector, and extensive experience in the political, regulatory, and corporate landscape associated with exploration and Project Development. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology from the University of Regina and has worked in the diamond, precious, and base metals sectors prior to joining the Company. Mr. Missal is a director of the NWT/Nunavut Chamber of Mines, a director of the Mining Association of Canada, and a director of Shear Diamonds.

President of Baffinland from February 2004 to June 2005, Mr. Zurowski relinquished his role as President and became Executive Vice President in 2005. Prior to joining Baffinland, Mr. Zurowski was an independent industry consultant and an associate at Watts Griffis and McOuat where he was the project manager for the Comprehensive Mineral Development Strategy for the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Mr. Zurowski has more than 25 years’ experience in the management and evaluation of advanced projects including 15 years with the Rio Tinto Group, initially based in Canada, then in Africa and Europe with shorter stints in other parts of the world. Mr. Zurowski is a Professional Engineer graduating from the University of Toronto in 1984 with a B.A.Sc. in Geological Engineering. In addition, Mr. Zurowski is a director of Matachewan Consolidated Mines, Limited and Golden Hope Mines Limited.
