The northern Qikiqtaaluk (Baffin) region of Nunavut is home to many different marine and freshwater environments, each with its own diverse ecosystem. Whether it’s pods of narwhal in Milne Inlet or Arctic char in the Mary River, Baffinland is actively invested in monitoring the marine and aquatic environments around the Mary River Project. Current monitoring topics include: water quality, fish, benthic invertebrates, sediment quality, and marine mammals.
