Jowdat Waheed

Jowdat Waheed is the acting Chief Executive Officer of Baffinland Iron Mines. He assumed the role in July 2024. Jowdat concurrently serves as President and CEO of both Nunavut Iron Ore, Inc., Baffinland's parent company, and MRP LP, Baffinland's Operator, positions he has held since December 2010.

Jowdat is primarily focused on advancing the Steensby Project. He has a robust background in mining and finance, with a career spanning over 37 years, having previously held leadership positions in coal, nickel and cobalt, fertilizers, power and oil and gas industries of several Canadian public companies.

Jowdat holds dual Bachelor of Science (Hons) degrees in Economics and Systems Science & Engineering from the Wharton School and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania.

Michael Anderson

Michael Anderson has over 30 years’ experience in the mining industry and over 20 of those working in Canada’s northern regions. After 11 years of exploration, development and operations work bringing the Voisey’s Bay Mine in Labrador into production, Michael joined Baffinland in 2011 as the Vice President of Operations. From 2011 through 2015, he led the Operations team through permitting, design, construction, start-up and operations. Michael then moved into the Chief Technical Officer role where he and his team have been providing exploration, strategic planning and technical support to the company.  Michael moved back into the lead Operations role in 2025.

Michael has a Master’s degree in Mining Engineering (MASc) from Queen’s University and is a Professional Engineer.

Mark O'Brien

Prior to joining Baffinland as our EVP and General Counsel, Mark was a partner at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, a leading Toronto-based law firm, where he advised clients on a variety of matters, including public and private offerings of equity and debt securities, loan financing, joint ventures, and corporate governance.

Mark holds a Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Prince Edward Island.

Sajid Rizvi

Sajid Rizvi has more than 20 years of capital markets experience, particularly in the mining sector. Prior to joining Baffinland, he was Managing Director, Investment Banking at TD Securities in the Global Mining Group, where he advised clients on capital raising, mergers & acquisitions and negotiating complex transactions.

Sajid hold an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA).

Celeste van Tonder

Celeste brings more than 15 years of financial and commercial experience to the Company. She is highly skilled in regulatory compliance, tax matters and funding, as well as budget and capital planning. Prior to joining Baffinland, Celeste was CFO of the Canadian Copper company Rambler Metals and Mining. She was also CFO of Universal Coal Plc and Terracom Resources Ltd.,. As Baffinland CFO, Celeste leads the finance group in planning for the Steensby phase, as well as maintaining Baffinland’s reporting processes and audit standards.

Celeste holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters of Accounting from the University of Johannesburg, and is a Chartered Accountant (SA).

Udlu Hanson

Udloriak Hanson (Udlu) has extensive experience working in senior roles with the Government of Nunavut and various Inuit organizations. Prior to joining Baffinland, Udlu was Deputy Minister of the Department of Economic Development and Transportation for the Government of Nunavut. She also served as Chie­­f Operating Officer with Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) as well as NTI’s Chief Negotiator for Devolution.

Udlu worked as Senior Advisor to the Clerk of the Executive Council for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, on Aboriginal Issues and Arctic Economic Opportunities. She also served as Executive Director and Special Advisor to Mary Simon, then-President of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK), the national organization representing Inuit across Canada.

Udlu also led the development of the Qaujisaqtiit Society, Nunavut’s first charitable consortium of Inuit non-profit organizations. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Rideau Hall Foundation.

Udlu holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Okanagan University College and a Bachelor of Education from Brock University.

Megan Lord-Hoyle

Megan Lord-Hoyle has more than 15 years' experience working across Canada's remote jurisdictions and the Arctic. She graduated with honours from Queen's University with a degree in Environmental Chemistry before completing a Master of Environmental Science at the Royal Military College of Canada. She began her career in contaminated sites remediation, specializing in human health and ecological risk assessment and risk communication. While working, she completed a Master of Public Policy and Administration to strengthen her leadership in northern policy and governance, including serving as Scientific Advisor to the Nunatsiavut Government.

Megan has also worked in the energy sector, supporting First Nations and Métis relations while partnering with remote communities across Ontario.

She joined Baffinland Iron Mines in 2016 as Sustainability Manager, where she oversaw regional wildlife monitoring programs, environmental working groups, and engagement with Inuit communities. In 2018, she was promoted to Director of Sustainable Development, expanding her leadership to include regulatory affairs, permitting, northern affairs, and environmental monitoring.

As Vice-President of Sustainable Development, Megan provides executive leadership for Regulatory Affairs, leading public hearings, directing engagement with government and Inuit organizations, and guiding project design and permitting. She also oversees regional environmental monitoring and sustainability initiatives, ensuring Inuit knowledge and government input are integrated into decision-making. Under her leadership, Baffinland transformed its community engagement model and established a dedicated Northern Affairs executive function based in Iqaluit.

Megan has led negotiations on several landmark agreements with Inuit partners, including Baffinland's most recent Inuit Impact and Benefit Agreement. She also leads the company's relationship with the Qikiqtani Inuit Association, ensuring collaboration and partnership are embedded across the organization's planning and decision-making.

In 2025, Megan's portfolio expanded to include responsibility for Site Environment, Health and Safety, and Security, reflecting the breadth of her executive leadership.

Recognized as a trusted leader within Baffinland, Megan is widely respected by government, Inuit organizations, and northern communities for her collaborative approach, strategic leadership, and commitment to responsible resource development.

Robin Nundoo

Robin Nundoo has extensive experience in iron ore and metallurgical coal sales, maritime freight trading, commodity derivatives, price risk management, and financial modelling and analysis. He spent 8.5 years with ArcelorMittal as Global Sales Book & Pricing Manager for the company’s mining business.

Robin was closely involved with the marketing, shipping, and selling of Baffinland’s iron ore while at ArcelorMittal. As our VP of Sales & Logistics, Robin’s primary objectives are to bring Baffinland's Iron ore to market, manage inventory working capital, and oversee Baffinland’s maritime iron ore shipping activities. He also works closely with site operations, Baffinland’s port management partners, and sustainable development teams towards achieving shared goals.

Robin holds an MBA from Imperial College Business School in London, as well as a Bachelor’s of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics.
